Hario Skerton vs Mini mill Assuming they are the same price, which is better? Is the Porlex Mini worth the extra 15 when compared to the other 2? I'll be using this mostly for the aeropress. But if I expand, it will be anything except espressos. 4 Related Topics 8 comments Best Add a Comment Grodd • 10 yr. ago
WhatsApp: +86 18203695377Hario Skerton Mini Mill vs. Regular for Aeropress I got the Aeropress for Christmas and am already extremely excited with it even using just my parents cheap electric grinder and discounter beans. My Nespresso machine shall henceforth only be used for producing milk froth. Now I need my own grinder and need to decide between the two Harios.
WhatsApp: +86 18203695377This is the difference between bad and awful. They are both cheap grinders with cheap ceramic burrs and cheap internal structures that lead to very inconsistent grounds quality and make it very hard to get a good cup of coffee consistently. Do yourself, the roasters, and the coffee growers a favor and spend 65 on the Timemore C grinder from ...
WhatsApp: +86 18203695377Grind setting is easier to set and replicate (like the Hario Mini), unlike the Hario Skerton. For a relative beginner like yourself, it's less hassle. The Skerton has no grind setting indicator, and it's a pain to dial in a grind setting all over again. Porlex is allegedly more consistent at coarser grinds than the Skerton. This is anecdotal ...

WhatsApp: +86 182036953772:22 Transcript Hey, Chris here from Prima Coffee Equipment. Today we are comparing Hario Skerton hand grinder to the Mini Mill. Let's take a look at some of the things that make these different. You can see they're both about the same height, but Skerton is of course much wider and heavier.
WhatsApp: +86 18203695377The Hario Skerton is one of the most iconic hand grinders out there. A few years back, Hario released a new and improved version of it: The socalled Hario Skerton 'Pro'. At the time it was released, the Skerton Pro was actually a decent budget option. However, today there are just some way better options available in this cost range.
WhatsApp: +86 18203695377From reading, it seems Hario mini is slightly easier to adjust, has plastic container and hold less coffee. Performs slightly better at coarse range. Best for those doing small coffee batch at a time.
WhatsApp: +86 18203695377I am going with the Mini for a few reasons. 1) The burrs on the Mini are stabilized with springs. The Skerton does not have a feature like this and is more prone to shifting during the grind, thus creating more inconsistencies at coarser grinds.

WhatsApp: +86 18203695377These Mini Mill and Skerton grind instead of 'chop', this is the best term I have for the action of a blade 'grinder'. WhatsApp: +86 18203695377I own the Slim, and I've used the Skerton. The slim is easier to adjust on the fly and is able to produce more consistently at larger grind sizes (French press). WhatsApp: +86 18203695377The Skerton Pro looks like a highend spice grinder. It's on the large side for a manual coffee grinder, but it will still fit easily in almost any kitchen. It has a highquality glass grounds container, a silicone rubber cover, and a plastic hopper and lid. The burrs are ceramic and adjustable via a nut on the bottom of the hopper.
WhatsApp: +86 18203695377Hario Skerton Plus. The Skerton is the „big brother" of the Mini Mill, but also has some similarities with the Canister. It is also mostly made of plastic, but the collection container is made ...
